U17 World Cup: Burkina Faso in Pool E with France

The Cadet Stallions of Burkina Faso are housed in Pool E with the Bleuets of France, the United States and South Korea, following the draw for the groups of the World Cup football category, carried out Friday by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) at its headquarters in Zurich (Switzerland).

The Cadet Stallions of Burkina Faso, bronze medalists at the last CAN in their category in Algeria in 2023, are now set to face their fate in the World Cup in the same category. Indeed, the supreme body of world football, FIFA, has drawn lots to establish the different groups for the competition which will take place from November 10 to December 2, 2023 in Indonesia.

This is the 5th participation of the Cadet Stallions in a World Cup in their category: 1999 (New Zealand), 2001 (Trinidad and Tobago), 2009 (Nigeria), 2011 (Mexico) and 2023 (Indonesia).

The Aziz Nikiéma, Wilfried Sanou and Boureima Maïga generation of 2001 had ruled out teams like Argentina (of Carlos Tévez), Spain (of Andrès Iniesta or Fernando Terres) during this world championship to bring back the bronze medal to Burkina Faso.
