UNICEF presents its 2023 achievements valued at USD 84 million to the head of Burkinabe diplomacy

Ouagadougou: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) presented its 2023 report and the 2024-2025 outlook to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad SEM Karamoko Jean Marie Traore The UNICEF delegation through the representative of this institution in Burkina Faso, John Agbor, presented the major achievements of the cooperation programs between the government of Burkina Faso and UNICEF and the actions to come, during this session of work, indicates the communications services of the Burkinabe Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As for the achievements of 2023, estimated at more than 84 million USD, Mr. Agbor noted, among others, the responses to health and humanitarian emergencies, the strengthening of the health system, the prevention and management of malnutrition, the participation in the reopening of schools (1000) and development actions. Furthermore, UNICEF Burkina plans, over the period 2024-2025, to intensify its contribution to humanitarian action to provide internal ly displaced persons and returnees with support in the areas of health, education and child protection. On behalf of the Burkinabe government, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy welcomed the fruitful collaboration with UNICEF and said he remained available for the continuation of this collaboration.
