The United States is the biggest importer of Tunisian olive oil with nearly 2,800 tonnes, that is 30.8% of total production.
Spain is the third buyer with 30.7%, followed by Italy with a 22.2% share, the National Observatory of Agriculture (French: ONAGRI) said.
The European Union had the lion's share with 59.5%, while North America imported 33.4% of total production. African purchases are still poor (1.9%).
Tunisia exported about 185,000 tonnes of olive oil in the 2022/2023 crop year with a total value of TND 3.1 billion.
