Kampti: The Kampti Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) was the focus of a visit by the Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Kargougou. He was accompanied by the Governor of the region, along with administrative and health authorities, to assess the progress of the construction's first phase.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation conducted a thorough tour of the various infrastructures under development, which include the medical services, maternity ward, and operating room. The completion rate has reached 85%, a milestone that was acknowledged by the minister. However, Dr. Kargougou pointed out certain technical issues, such as the absence of oxygen circuits and access ramps between buildings, that need addressing.
To tackle these challenges, Dr. Kargougou has called for a technical meeting at the beginning of the week with the companies and project owners. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining a continuous, 24-hour work rate to ensure the first phase is completed by the end of September. He also insisted on rigorous weekly monitoring to track the project's progress.
The minister disclosed that the second phase of the project, which will feature a medical imaging department and a laboratory, is set to launch soon. Discussions with the Directorate of Infrastructure, Equipment and Maintenance (DIEM) are ongoing to finalize the technical and financial details, he noted.
Mr. Isma«l Sebr©, site manager and representative of ETAF SARL, conveyed optimism that the project deadlines would be met. He mentioned that the main tasks left revolve around interior finishing, which should be expedited with the bolstering of the workforce.
