Tunis: A group of experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO) visited Tunisia on April 22-26 to assess the opportunities for setting up sustainable local vaccine production.The visit is part of the implementation of the strategy aimed at boosting local production in developing countries, including Tunisia, according to a press release by the Institut Pasteur de Tunis (IPT).The visit was also undertaken to assess the state of the Institut Pasteur's manufacturing facilities and the vaccine file in relation to WHO standards.The goal was also to build the capacity of the IPT's technical staff to meet WHO standards."This visit represents a crucial step towards Tunisia's autonomy in vaccine production," reads the same source.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
