Ziro/March 8: The women of Ziro marched for peace

Sapouy: Women’s organizations in the province of Ziro commemorated this Friday, March 8, 2024 at the Sapouy high commission, International Women’s Day in the presence of provincial and municipal authorities.

‘Promotion of community entrepreneurship: what contribution of women’, it is under this theme that the women of Ziro celebrated their international day. This celebration, which spanned a week, included a series of activities, the main ones of which were: the sanitation day in the services and public places of the city of Sapouy, the visit to the sick at the CMA, the cycling race, the panel on the theme and the commemorative day.

The commemorative ceremony, which was the highlight of the event, attracted a good number of people to the Sapouy high commission.

Speeches, the awarding of prizes to the best cyclists, a parade of women’s organizations, and an exhibition of processed products are the main highlights of the ceremony.

In her address, the provincial coordinator of women Laure Elisabeth Kaboré, u
nderlined the importance of the involvement of women in the management of public affairs to support the process of restoration and safeguarding of the homeland.

For her, the creation of the agency for the promotion of community entrepreneurship (APEC) is a boon for the emancipation of women.

To do this, she urged her sisters to massively subscribe to this noble project with a view to their economic empowerment.

High Commissioner Saïba Zoromé, for his part, paid a vibrant tribute to the women of Ziro, for their resilience in the face of the vicissitudes of life.

After listing a string of socio-economic and cultural constraints that prevent women from emancipating themselves, Saïba Zoromé urged populations to make drastic decisions to improve their well-being in order to build a prosperous and inclusive society.
