Banfora/Integration Festival: The organizing committee unveils the activities through a press conference.

The association for the Economic and Socio-cultural Development of the Cascades (ADESCA), in collaboration with the All Intègre Association, United for the Development of Bobo-Dioulasso (ATITUD/B), organized in Banfora the Sunday April 21, 2024, a press conference during which they presented the content of the Banfora Integration Festival. The organizers discussed with journalists the holding of the Banfora Integration Festival (FESTIB) scheduled to be held from May 23 to 26, 2024. FESTIB is inspired by the Bobo-Dioulasso integration festival run by ATITUD/B which is in its 6th edition . The first edition of FESTIB includes around ten activities which are, among others, a women's cycling race, a workshop on the agro-pastoral offensive, a tourist outing, a community and craft fair to allow the different communities in the region to waterfalls and those outside to exhibit objects from their cultures. It will be a forum for the sons and daughters of the Cascades region and which will also serve as a framewor k for exchange between those carrying ideas for economic and socio-cultural development. A panel on the theme: 'Problem of accession to thrones in the Cascades and South-West regions: What strategy for peaceful successions' is on the program. There will also be a Miss competition entitled: 'Miss Integrity' which aims to promote the cultures of different communities and an artistic set set up each evening with the aim of contributing to the promotion of local artistic talents. FESTIB will also be an opportunity to lay the first stone for the construction of the antenna of the national identification office (ONI) in Banfora. The fund that has been collected to date for the construction of this infrastructure amounts to more than 51 million. The organizing committee explained that it intends to make this FESTIB the largest festival in the region. ADESCA communications manager, Brama Ouatara, took the opportunity to make a brief presentation of this association. According to him, ADESCA is one of the first as sociations in the region. It was created by the late Lompolo Koné and was called Mutual of Cliffs and Rice Fields and later became ADESCO when the region had only one province. As a reminder, ADESCA has already carried out reforestation activities and donated a sum of 500,000 FCFA as a peace effort. Source: Burkina Information Agency
