Burkina: more than 800 million FCFA of fraudulent products seized in the first half of 2024

Ouagadougou: The National Anti-Fraud Coordination (CNLF) seized in the first half of 2024 several prohibited products composed, among others, of cyanide, cigarettes, amphetamines, pasta and veterinary products, all with an estimated value of more than 847 million CFA francs, reports the state daily Sidwaya, in today's publication.The products seized consist of 803 drums of cyanide of 50 kilos each, or more than 40 tonnes, cigarettes of all brands, pasta transported with harmful products as well as other products dangerous to health.According to the national anti-fraud coordinator, Yves Kafando , the value of the seized products is estimated at 847 million CFA francs.Kafando clarified that these seized products will simply be destroyed after a confiscation order by the court.He launched a vibrant appeal to the Burkinabè population to always 'collaborate and help them fight validly against this unorthodox practice which tends to undermine the effort to collect revenues'.Source: Burkina Information Ag ency
