Ouagadougou: The first edition of the cup of the High Commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewindé Isaac Sia, reached its apotheosis on Saturday July 13, 2024 in Léo. In the final, Léo defeated Boura after penalties.Launched on Saturday May 18, 2024, the first edition of the Sissili High Commissioner's Cup saw the participation of all the seven municipalities of the province.The final which pitted the Léo team against that of Boura took place on Saturday July 13, 2024 at the 'Zio Abdoulaye' municipal stadium in Léo.It was under the admiring gaze of numerous spectators as well as eminent personalities, including the minister in charge of national education, Sosthène Dingara, and the governor of the Center-West region, Boubacar Nouhoun Traoré, that the two visibly determined teams set out to conquer the trophy.At the start of the game, the 22 players engaged in a real derby by multiplying the offensives on both sides.Despite multiple attempts, neither team managed to win over the other. They left back to back with a draw of zero goals everywhere at the end of regulation time.It was at the end of the penalty shootout events that Léo's team showed itself to be more realistic and was able to dictate its law to its counterpart with a score of 5 goals to 4, thus winning the final of the first edition of the Sissili High Commissioner's Cup.In addition to the trophy, she obtains a set of jerseys, three balls, plus an envelope of 100,000 FCFA.The Boura team, unfortunate finalist, consoled itself with a set of jerseys, two balls, plus an envelope of 75,000 FCFA.The Silly team, ranked third, received a set of jerseys, three balls, a net and an envelope of 50,000 FCFA. To revive the practice of sport in the province, each municipality received three balls plus a set of jerseys.The High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewindé Isaac Sia, also the promoter of this activity, was delighted with the smooth running of the competitions and the enthusiasm that this first edition aroused.Mr. Sia expresse d his gratitude to all the goodwill which contributed to the success of this sporting activity, to the great happiness of the entire population of Sissili.According to him, this edition was coupled with a women's cycling race whose aim is to strengthen the resilience of populations in the face of the security challenge that our country has been facing for several years. This is how the top five in cycling each received a bicycle plus an envelope offered by the general director of the 'Société Wend Waoga Nabonswendé', Moustapha W. Souli.The general director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Sports and Leisure, Abdoul Karim Souabo, also sponsor of this edition, thanked the promoter for having chosen him to sponsor this first edition. He then welcomed and congratulated the strong mobilization around this activity.
