Burkina: Parliament says yes to holding national meetings where the continuation of the Transition will be decided

The Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT), unanimously, gave its agreement for the holding of national meetings on the continuation of the Transition, Friday in Ouagadougou. The ALT deputies, meeting in plenary session, adopted the bill approving the Transitional Legislative Assembly for the organization of the national meetings, thus paving the way for the extension of the duration of the Burkinabe transition. The end of the Transition, with regard to the charter of October 14, 2022, was scheduled for July 1, 2024 but will probably be extended for a period that the meetings will decide. 'The National Assizes will deliberate on the follow-up to be given to the Transition. Through this proposed law initiative, the ALT firmly demonstrates its desire to give way to broad consultation on the life of the Nation,' explained the ALT. Source: Burkina Information Agency
