Burkina: sport to celebrate communities day in Yatenga

Authorities from the Yatenga province and members of several communities participated on April 26 in a series of sporting activities as part of Communities Day, under the presidency of the High Commissioner of the province Tasséré Nacoulma, noted an AIB journalist. As part of conflict prevention activities and the strengthening of social cohesion, the Yatenga High Commission organized, in partnership with the Educo Foundation, sporting activities on Friday April 26, 2024. It was through a popular cross country that the participants began from the Place de la Nation in Ouahigouya, the communities day with the slogan 'Living together in Yatenga, our strength'. Responding to this morning cross-country and aerobics sports activity were the head of the Yatenga province Tasséré Nacoulma, executives from the High Commission, members of established bodies, the North Base Coordinator of the activities of the Educo Foundation, Sam Joseph Dabiré and his collaborators, representatives of the Burkinabè communities from Mali and Niger living in Ouahigouya. In the afternoon on the field of sector 2 of Ouahigouya, the same actors were amazed by two maracana football matches. Teams of internally displaced women and their hosts and internally displaced men and indigenous people allowed the different communities to come together and commune around the ball in a spirit of social cohesion in cultural diversity. 'It is a sports day which allowed us to launch our program of activities, a mixing of different communities who aspire to live better together in the same spirit of resilience in a difficult security context' suggested the High -Commissioner Tasséré Nacoulma.
