Burkina withdraws a 183 million FCFA contract from a company that demands the entire amount of the order in advance

Ouagadougou: The government has just reallocated an optical sorter contract worth 183 million FCFA to another company, after canceling the order it had placed with the company Anhui Wentao Intelligent Photoelectronic Technology, which requires, according to the government , 'payment in advance of the entire amount of the order before any start of execution' The Council of Ministers, meeting this Wednesday under the chairmanship of Captain Ibrahim Traora, recalled that 'as part of the implementation of this initiative, the acquisition of optical sorters is planned to achieve the objectives of the component ''Emergency initiative for the intensification of rice cultivation in Burkina Faso on 4000 hectares''. To do this, a contract for a total amount of one hundred and eighty-three million sixty-eight thousand nine hundred and seven (183,068,907) CFA francs including tax was awarded to the company ANHUI Wentao Intelligent Photoelectronic Technology Co. Ltd. which required payment in advance of the entire amoun t of the order before any start of execution. 'However,' continues the government, 'this procedure for releasing resources as desired by the successful bidder does not comply with the regulations on public contracts and public service delegations.' The Burkinabe government has therefore decided to withdraw the contract and reallocate it to the company Nema Agricole du Faso (NAFASO) for an amount of one hundred and eighty-three million and sixty-eight thousand three hundred and eighty (183,068,380) F CFA including tax , with a turnaround time of ninety (90) days.
