Center-south: driving schools offer driving license vouchers worth more than 12 million CFA francs to VDPs

The Centre-Sud regional section of the Driving Schools Association of Burkina Faso has offered, as a contribution to the war effort, a batch of vouchers with a total value of 12 million 500 thousand CFA francs to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) to pass their driving license free of charge, noted, Tuesday, the AIB.

"Representatives of driving schools in the Center-South region wanted to accompany, with a hundred vouchers, VDPs who do not have a driving license so that they can obtain it", indicated, Tuesday, the communication officer of the Associations of Driving Schools of Burkina also representing the said association at the level of the Center-South, Narsane Zoubga.

Mr. Zoubga was speaking on the occasion of the ceremony of delivery of the vouchers which took place on the sidelines of the traditional rise of the national colors.

He explained that the donation valued at a total of 12 million 500 thousand CFA francs is "the contribution of driving schools to the war effort and to support the VDPs who are fighting alongside the Defense and Security Forces for the securing the country”.

It is also, he specifies, a way of showing their “patriotism” and their “wish for a rapid return to peace”.

With the vouchers, the beneficiaries are exempt from training costs and will just have to pay the costs of composing the file, said Narsane Zoubga,

"The unit vouchers are up to 125,000 CFA francs and each beneficiary must only contribute 16,000 CFA francs for the purchase of the application file and 200 CFA francs for the tax stamp, i.e. a total of 16,200 francs" , he noted.

On the genesis of the initiative, the representative of Burkina's umbrella of driving schools in the Center-South confided that the 15 driving schools present in the Center-South region responded "favorably" to an invitation from the regional director Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety Center-South, Issaka Yankini.

"At the start, the idea was to be able to have 15 driving license vouchers, i.e. one voucher per driving school, but the enthusiasm was such that from 15 vouchers we then went to 56 vouchers and finally to 100 vouchers at the end. of the operation", specified the regional director in charge of Transport in the Centre-South, Issaka Yankene.

"I salute all the driving schools in the region for this gesture," he said.

The Secretary General of the Center-South region, Abibata Ouo Bamouni, who received the donation, assured that it will arrive "safely and will be transmitted to whom it may concern".

She thanked the donors, also inviting other structures to follow suit.

The communication officer of the Associations of Driving Schools of Burkina, Arsane Zoubga said he expected beneficiaries to attend training sessions.

"We also hope that the lessons they will have to receive at the level of driving schools will be beneficial to them so that it can contribute to the fight against road insecurity and also that they can use it on the combat field. against terrorism,” noted Mr. Zoubga.
