Opening ceremony of the SNC and national meetings make the headlines of the daily newspapers

The publications of this Monday echo the agreement of the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) for the organization of the national meetings and the opening ceremony of the National Week of culture (SNC). 'SNC Bobo 2024: Start of the festivities', reads the state daily Sidwaya on its headline. The newspaper reports that festival-goers were kept in suspense for around thirty minutes by 300 dancers, choreographers, singers and drummers who presented several paintings on stage during the opening ceremony. Sidwaya indicates that choreographers Oumar Démé and Yaya Sanou were able to captivate the audience's attention, through songs, dances and acrobatics to the rhythm of percussion. He adds that the theme of this edition: 'Culture, historical memory and patriotic surge for a new Burkina', invites us to strengthen the love of the homeland and patriotic values, in order to make Burkina Faso, a nation of peace and prosperity. . In the same vein, the private newspaper Le Pays mentions that the SNC constitutes a privileged framework for exchanges and sharing of experiences between actors and professionals in the world of culture. The private daily underlines that as a guest country of honor, Niger shares with Burkina Faso, cultural, multi-sectoral, traditional, musical similarities, the same history and the same environments. The Paalga Observer, for his part, mentioned that it was around 6 p.m. that the president of the Transition, Ibrahim Traoré was invited to give three tom-tom hits which marked the start of the cultural biennial. In another register, the same newspaper displays on its front page 'Extension of the Transition: Discharge of the ALT for national meetings'. The dean of private daily newspapers underlines that the ALT deputies voted for two laws, one of which relates to the composition, organization, functioning and attributions of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) and the other to the organization of national meetings, in order to decide on the future of the Transition. For its part, the private newspaper, Le Pays specifies that through this proposed law initiative, the ALT firmly displays its desire to give way to broad consultation on the life of the Nation. On the law relating to the CSM, Sidwaya informs that several major innovations should be noted. These include, among other things, the reduction of the duration of judicial vacations, access to the body of the judiciary by civil servants and the integration of non-magistrates into the composition of the CSM.
