Steering Committee responsible for amending community land law to complete work soon (Ministry)

The steering committee in charge of drafting the amendment to the law on community land will soon complete its work, at a time when the conditions and procedures for the transfer in symbolic dinars of land belonging to the state's private domain and located in regional development zones have been published, the Ministry of State Property and Land Affairs said Monday. It added in a statement that the decree regulating the conditions and procedures for the transfer in symbolic dinars of lands belonging to the state's private domain and located in regional development zones for public or private enterprises or technoparks and companies managing technological and industrial clusters in the Official Gazette No. 162 of 2024, is a step towards the management of state property. During a visit to the governorate of Kebili on Saturday, President Kais Saied stressed the need to overcome the disadvantages and problems that have arisen in the past regarding the distribution of community land. According to 2015 data, th e total area of community lands is estimated at 3 million hectares, half of which is classified as communal grazing land, while the total area of allocatable communal land is 1,500 thousand hectares, located in the governorates of Gabes, Kairouan, Mahdia, Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine, Tataouine, Medenine, Gafsa, Kebili and Tozeur.
