Koudougou: The Association of Burkinabe in Switzerland and Neighboring Regions (ABS) offered a substantial donation of food and medicine to internally displaced patients at the Koudougou Regional Hospital Center (CHR) on Monday, AIB noted on site.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was made in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Anicet Kpoda, the Director General (DG), Dr. Habibou Ouedraogo/Kabor©, hospital staff, and association representatives. The ABS handed over a large consignment of food and medicine, estimated at approximately 7 million CFA francs.
This donation, consisting of 80 bags of white rice and 40 bags of local rice, both weighing 25 kg, is specifically intended to improve the daily lives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) currently hospitalized at the Koudougou University Hospital.
The Director General of the CHR expressed her gratitude and emotion at this generous gesture. Highlighting the impact of this aid on patient well-being and the quality of care, she recalled the current context of growing health needs in the face of limited resources. She thanked the ABS on behalf of the entire hospital and the beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and ensuring the transparent and equitable use of donations.
The DG also invited the ABS to join the next edition of "Patient Night," a local initiative aimed at mobilizing more support for the sustainable improvement of access to care.
ABS representative Tahirou Komi reaffirmed his association's commitment to internally displaced persons, emphasizing that this donation was a concrete expression of their solidarity. He assured that the ABS remained mobilized to support humanitarian efforts and accompany initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations.
